A Life of Strength.
A Legacy of Love.
A devoted husband, loving father, and cherished family man
Alvin and his beloved wife shared a love that began in their youth and lasted a lifetime. They met on Christmas night in 1973, and from that moment on, they were inseparable—joined not only by affection, but by purpose. On April 4, 1975, they were united in holy matrimony, and from that union, a beautiful legacy was born.
Alvin was a devoted family man who loved his family deeply and without reservation. They once said they would have only two children, a boy and a girl, but God had other plans and a sense of humor that brought them much joy. Together, they were blessed with three beautiful daughters and four handsome sons.
Alvin was immensely proud of his children and never missed an opportunity to brag about them. Being a good provider mattered to him, and his expressions of love were simple, sincere, and always from the heart. His children were his pride and joy, and there was nothing he would not do for them.
He was a constant presence in their lives—front and center at games, school events, birthday celebrations, and milestones. Cheering them on brought him pure happiness. He encouraged them, supported them, spoke life into them, and reminded them often of how proud he was.
Alvin also found great joy in his grandchildren and treasured capturing moments with his camera, sharing photos whenever he could. These small acts brought him immense happiness and reflected his deep love for family.
"He will be missed more than words can express. Our family gatherings will never be the same without him. Though his time with us feels far too short, his love, lessons, and legacy will live on through the family he cherished so dearly."
Alvin's strength built the foundation upon which his family stands. As a father, he was both protector and cheerleader, always present, always proud. His leadership was marked not by loud proclamations, but by quiet consistency—showing up, supporting, and loving without condition.
The values he passed down are woven into the fabric of his family: integrity, dedication, unconditional love, and the importance of being present for those who matter most. Through his children and grandchildren, his legacy continues to grow and flourish.

Heartfelt messages from family and loved ones
Dear Grandad, I thank you for being the person in my life who has cared for me the same since I was a kid. You are the type of man and person who makes everyone around you, especially family, feel loved. You're a grandad who couldn't be replaced by anyone or anything. Even though we may not have spent much time together, I've always had the same reaction to seeing you. I've gotten used to seeing you only a few times a year, but every time I seen you, it felt like we were together yesterday. Your love for me made me feel like there were no gaps between our visits. You've always cared about how I'm doing, what I'm getting into, and how I'm going to better myself. You never wanted me to change who I am. You've motivated me to become a better man and son for my family, knowing what you've been through and overcome throughout your life. My heart hurts writing this for you, knowing you are gone, but I am so very grateful and blessed to call you my Grandad. Thank you for being the man you were to me, my Mom, Aunts, Uncles, and to the rest of the family. We will love and miss you forever!

My grandad had many ideas, some would say, that were outside the box. But ideas like his are the reason the world is such a beautiful place. If we were all the same, what's the point of us living? Life would not be the same if we all were. I'm so glad my grandad brought his differences into my life. He opened my eyes and my heart to be accepting of most everyone and all types of ideas. His open mind helps me go through life being unafraid and the bright person I am. Thank you for everything, Grandad.

I used to think that love came in measures. That some hearts had to try harder. But you loved me like it was effortless. Like my place in your life had always been certain. There were times I wanted more; more words, more time, more proof. I didn't always see, that what you gave, was exactly what you had. And it was real. With time, my eyes learned differently. I see now the steadiness, the showing up, the quiet pride, the love that never asked for permission to be mine. What I had was good. What I had was love. And I will carry it forward, because I finally know its name.

Truly one of the coolest guys I've ever known. It is such an honor to be the youngest of Big Al's kids. I understand where my coolness comes from. Take your rest and continue stepping to the music in heaven. I love you, pops.

Pops, it's your 1st born son, and I just want to say thank you. You told me life didn't come with a manual or how-to guide, but just to do my best, and that's all you can do. I watched you for many, many years grow into the man you wanted to become. It wasn't always easy, but you carried the weight well. You lead with encouragement, love and peace in most things. Your heart always leaned into compassion. You showed me that true strength was the grace and kindness you extend to others, even when they may not deserve it, because it was the right thing to do. You were an example of hitting the bottom, and bouncing back was truly possible. In my growth and in remembrance of you, my hope is that I can carry this weight, like you wanted me to… and strive to be just a bit better than, become the man you wanted me to. I Love you Dad!

We will miss you dearly and carry you in our hearts. This way we will never feel far apart. I know you're gone and no longer here. Rest well no need to fear. You're exempt from pain, sadness, heartache and sickness. You've gained your wings. So dance without regret. A joyful heart and soul. You're in control. Take flight and soar into eternity.
Lovingly, Roni
In the beginning you didn't want to be seen. Not by me and these curious eyes. Unfortunately for you, but ironically, like you I'm always asking questions and deducing or conducting research. Trying to get to the root of things. Into the understanding. Eventually, I found joy. When you chose to sit under the light for me and stepped into the light with me and then (before you said goodbye) out of the light to see Me.
